About CaMo
CaMo (Care On The Move), was started as TaxiNurse® and is the brainchild of a Registered Nurse (RN) with over 30 years experience in critical care cardiology, hematology/oncology, and various ambulatory settings in top hospitals across the nation, as well as in New York City and Durham. Through the course of a varied career, the need for escorted, post-procedure transportation became apparent.
CaMo® is the collaboration of an experienced nurse and a successful entrepreneur with keen business acumen, who has been meeting the needs of retail and institutional clients on a national scale for nearly a decade. He immediately recognized the potential of CaMo®, and together they combine deep knowledge of the healthcare industry with the ability to run a successful business.
Why We Started
Providers, patients, family members and friends understand how difficult it can be to schedule procedures that require an escort home. This puts pressure on everyone in the process including institutions, caregivers, and especially already anxious patients.
At infusion centers, patients often arrive alone for arduous treatments. Whether it be a tough infusion day when a friend or family member can't be there, or a test/procedure you'd rather keep private, CaMo® companions are personally vetted and trained to provide support and companionship. We'll make sure you have something to eat and/or drink, like a family member or friend would.
Our services are currently available in NYC- Manhattan and the outer boroughs. If you need a ride back to Westcheter or Long Island, please reach out for a custom quote.

How do I make a reservation with CaMo?It's easy! Booking online is the best way to reserve, complete the necessary forms, e-sign the waiver, and pay for your service. What happens once I make a reservation?Once you submit your booking request, you will receive an email confirmation. (Don’t forget to check your spam folder if you don't see it!) You will then click on the included link, which contains a brief patient intake form and e-waiver to sign. This will tell us about your procedure and pick up details, so we can coordinate transportation with your facility. If you do not receive your confirmation email, please contact us and we will resend it. You will also have the option of signing up for text (SMS) or email reminders of your upcoming appointment.

Did you change your name from TaxiNurse?Yes we did. As we explored plans to expand to various US cities some local regulations prevented us using the name TaxiNurse, so we chose CaMo to reflect our Care On The Move philosophy.
-
How does CaMo ensure I'm safe after my procedure? The doctors and staff at the procedure center will determine when you meet the appropriate and safe criteria necessary for discharge. Once a physician's discharge order is confirmed, a team member will escort you home. We will not transport you unless we feel you are safe for transport.
-
What if I have a complication after I leave the facility? You will be provided discharge instructions from the nurses at the facility where you had your procedure. You should follow those instructions and contact your doctor or the facility for further guidance. If you are unable to reach anyone, you should proceed to the nearest emergency room or call 911. In the event you are unsafe for transport at the scheduled time, we will do our very best to work with you and the facility to return and take you home if our schedule permits.
-
What if my procedure is running late?Once your booking is complete, CaMo team members will communicate with the facility to coordinate your discharge time. We will meet you at the facility. Don't worry about running late, we will stay in contact with the facility, and be there on time. If you aren’t discharged from the facility at the scheduled time, we will allow for an additional 30-minute wait time. After 30 minutes, there will be an additional charge of $1.00 per minute. You may also book our CaMo Enhanced package which ensures we will be present for the entirety of your procedure.
-
Will CaMo monitor my vital signs?CaMo ensures your safe return home once you have met the discharge criteria set by the procedure facility. We do not monitor vital signs. There are different levels of service available, and we will work with you to select the package that best suits your needs.

Please read our Privacy Agreement.
-
What if my procedure or treatment is cancelled?Things happen! Once we verify that your procedure is cancelled with your healthcare provider, there is no cost to you.
